【Learn and grow through exploration, embracing the ocean and nature】

Supported by Medtronic Hong Kong Medical Limited, the “Set Sail: Ocean Adventure” programme combines marine experiences with outdoor exploration, enabling children to enhance their abilities in a diverse learning environment while deepening their understanding of nature and environmental conservation. The programme consists of two main experiences: marine-themed learning and outdoor orienteering challenges, allowing participants to engage with nature from different perspectives and develop a wide range of skills.

Marine Experience: Building Problem-Solving and Teamwork through Challenges

Members of The Boys’ & Girls’ Clubs Association of Hong Kong Parent Wellness Project participated in marine-themed activities. In a simulated hazardous water environment, children worked together as a team to complete tasks, learning to stay calm when facing challenges and to apply strategies to solve problems. Additionally, volunteers and children made “mini ocean bottles” together. Through this creative process, they learned about marine ecology and conservation, boosting environmental awareness.

Outdoor Orienteering: Learning, Observation, and Connection in Nature

Meanwhile, members from The Boys’ & Girls’ Clubs Association of Hong Kong Jockey Club Sheung Wan Integrated Service Centre for Children and Youth participated in an outdoor orienteering activity at Aberdeen Country Park. During the challenge, participants learned to identify directions, plan routes, and observe various plants and animals, experiencing nature's diversity. The activity not only improved physical fitness and resilience but also encouraged communication and teamwork, helping participants build connections and confidence in a natural setting. Through this program, children had the chance to step outside their daily routines, gain new knowledge through hands-on experiences, and develop confidence and skills through exploration.
