BGCA Project Touch x Meta.Be the Bridge between Parents and Youths

“Meta Good Causes Day” was an annual event of Meta to mobilize its employees for meaningful causes, and support local non-profit organizations and connect more closely with the community. One of our BGCA’s service units – Project Touch was pleased to be the charitable partner for their campaign in 2021 & 2022, with the theme of Social Inclusion that encourages the embracement of each others’ differences. Our team presented on stage the collaboration plan with Meta’s team to call for support from the industry and stakeholders on 16 December 2021.

Hannah Chow, Project Officer of Project Touch (left) and Jerry Zhang, Business Director, Greater China of Meta shared the collaboration plan and the needs of LGBTQ+ youths and their families.

Throughout the upcoming year of 2022, Project Touch and Meta will initiate a community-driven campaign to support LGBTQ+ parents and families in Hong Kong via Facebook and its apps. To render continual emotional support and social resources to the targeted parents, a chatbot that aims at bringing effective communication within families will be set up.

BGCA team and Jerry were looking forward to the upcoming collaboration.

Local NGOs with their representatives were invited to learn application of social platforms in advocating social good causes and connecting more closely with their communities.
